Fox Run is a classic golf course players of all abilities will enjoy. Ambling amid 225 acres of scenic Northern Michigan Hardwoods and wildlife havens, Fox Run offers tree-lined, gently rolling fairways, marsh holes, heather roughs and undulating greens.
Par 72, Slope 131 (Blues) 123 (Whites) 118 (Reds) Challenging but friendly with three sets of tees, the course plays from 6371 yards from the back tees to 4829 yards from the forward tees. But don’t let the yardage fool you. One of the best aspects of this course is the variety. In fact, the Bay City Times said “Holes 3, 4 and 5 are a trio of holes that stand up as one of the most intriguing, challenging and contrasting set of holes you will find anywhere. They set the tone for the variety and fun you’ll find throughout Fox Run.” Sooner or later you’ll need every club in your bag as you navigate the course. Well placed shots are greatly rewarded. Miss a landing area and you’re in for a challenge.

Tee shot should favor the left side as the driving range on right is out of bounds. Be leery of a back pin placement as the back half of this green slopes away from the fairway and behind the green there is a drop off to a lateral hazard . Play to the middle and test your putting. (Par 4)

Placement off the tee is important here as the large oak on the left penalizes off line tee shots. Better to be a little short rather than long on the approach as some of the thickest rough on the course lurks just behind the green. One of the least birdied holes at Fox Run. (Par 4)

The right side of the fairway off the tee helps set the hole up. Long hitters thinking of going for the green in 2 be forewarned: the trees along the left side after the dogleg are tall and difficult to carry if you try to cut the corner. There is out of bounds behind the green. (Par 5) |

The number one handicap hole at Fox Run and the first hole of AK’s Corner. Marsh in fairway is very reachable off the tee. Better to leave your second shot short of the green and chip up than be over as there is quite a drop off to another marsh. Green slopes hard from back to front and left to right. Not a long Par 4 but don’t let the yardage fool you. This one’s tough. (Par 4)

Front bunker is not a nice place to visit. Take enough club to carry the ball to the pin or it will catch the slope and come back off the front of the green. (Par 3)

Lateral hazard down both sides, but ample driving area. Playing the blue tees changes the hole dramatically. (Par 4)

If your tee shot avoids the oaks on the left and the apple trees on the right, then you have a good chance for a birdie. (Par 5)

Trees and hazard on the left make you want to favor the right side, but trees on the right can interfere with the second shot. (Par 4)

Harry's Hillside. Swirling wind makes club selection critical. Hill on left makes everything run towards the right bunker.

Selecting the proper club to negotiate over Wally's Pond while avoiding the bunkers and Mt. Bradley, should leave a birdie putt on a green that is one of the easier on the course. (Par 3)
